Our process for cultural master planning is flexible, accessible and focused.
Its steps are to:
- chart and review your cultural assets in a systematic and specialized manner;
- conduct a SWOT and an MRA analysis;
- develop value-quality-market readiness for each cultural asset grouping;
- formulate a cultural tourism stewardship program as a component of the Cultural Master Plan;
- embrace the social, economic and cultural dynamics of your community;
- address the economic constraints on your community and region;
- review opportunities for youth, ethnic communities, First Nations and retirees;
- engage all stakeholders in a meaningful way;
- recommend options for building future capacity in your cultural resources;
- provide a sustainable, flexible plan to meet changing needs in your community; and
- facilitate communications for internal stakeholders and external promotion.
We emphasize:
- the value of product development so that your Cultural Plan is sound and practical;
- the value of “Cultural Charting MRA” and research based on criteria and standards to ensure your key assets are market ready;
- the value of cultural tourism as a component of the implementation strategy for your plan; and
- the value of national and international standards and policies.
